Jennifer Ménard-Shand is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, speaker, and the founder and CEO of both Staff Shop, a staffing search and consulting firm, and Fire Flames, a premium hot sauce brand. She also serves on the board of Victim Services Toronto, where she focuses on ending human trafficking and violence against women and girls, especially Indigenous women and girls who are disproportionately affected across Canada. Her work across business and community leadership is rooted in purpose, resilience, and a deep commitment to creating meaningful change.
Coming from humble beginnings, Jennifer says she has always felt a strong responsibility to break cycles and help women and children wherever she could. Her entrepreneurial journey grew out of that same purpose. Staff Shop began as something she built within a larger staffing firm before taking the opportunity to purchase and rebrand it at the end of 2018. Fire Flames started as a pandemic passion project and evolved into a scalable business. Along the way, Jennifer says philanthropy and impact have remained central to everything she builds, with her board work continuing to ground her in the larger mission behind her success.

Jennifer is a member of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory on Manitoulin Island, a place that remains close to her heart through time spent there with her grandmother. After growing up primarily in Sudbury, she moved to Toronto at 20, a step she describes as the beginning of her healing journey. She believes entrepreneurship represents freedom, but also recognizes that success is never built alone. Support from mentors, strong teams, values-driven leadership, and organizations like Two Rivers all played a role in helping her grow. Her message to others is to not let the past define them, to lean into resilience, and to keep moving forward with purpose.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
