Tiny Homes Project

Introducing the Tiny Homes Project, a transformative initiative spearheaded by Katie Montour, the Community & Public Relations Officer of the Six Nations Development Corporation. Grounded in a deep understanding of the housing struggles faced by community members, this project aims to provide affordable, safe, and secure housing options tailored specifically for the Six Nations of the Grand River community.

Recognizing the urgent need for accessible housing solutions, the Tiny Homes Project offers community members the opportunity to purchase homes designed and built by their peers. With customizable options available, including cabinets, hardware, and layouts, buyers are empowered to create a space that reflects their needs and preferences. From touring model homes to final delivery, the project team works closely with purchasers to ensure a seamless experience, requiring only minimal site preparations beforehand.

Through partnerships with the Six Nations Housing program, the Tiny Homes Project streamlines the home-buying process, offering alternatives to traditional down payments and facilitating access to essential resources. With a dedicated team of community members driving the project forward, the Tiny Homes Project not only addresses the immediate housing challenges but also fosters a sense of pride and empowerment within the community.

As Katie Montour eloquently states, “Everyone deserves a place to call home that is warm and inviting,” underscoring the project’s mission to provide not just shelter but a sanctuary for generations to come.
